About This Course
Design of advanced digital systems. This involves programmable logic devices, the hardware description language VHDL and design of system-on-chip (processor, memory and logic on a single chip).
After going through the course, the student will be able to describe advanced digital systems in different levels of detail, explain important principles for design and verification of digital systems, understand the relationship between function and different design criteria, and perform simulation and synthesis of digital systems.
To benefit from the course, it is recommended that the student should already have a basic understanding of digital technology in the form of sequential and combinatorial circuits.
